Name Palamedes Sextus Age 20 Born ???
Occupation Necromancer; Warden of the Sixth House PB Benjamin Wadsworth
About.
Full history is here. Highlights: Became the youngest leader of his planet in recorded history at age thirteen, expert necromancer specially in psychometry, in love with a woman seven years his elder, proposed to her, was rejected. Arrives at Canaan House along with the rest of the cohort to study to become a Lyctor, one of the Emperor’s personal saints and servants. Kept a cool head when Shit Got Real afterwards.
First impressions.
Visual. Tall, malnourished, close-clopped dark hair, gray eyes, and described as “a handsome man with permanent bitch face.” He’s every scrawny nerd built like a pipe cleaner you shoved into a locker back in high school.
Fashion. Robes in Sixth House colors, gray and silver. Ever-present glasses.
Demeanor. Palamedes is a genius and not afraid to share that fact. He enjoys an impossible challenge, dense research, and obtuse history and academia. He was chosen to lead his planet, collectively known as the finest minds in the Empire, for a reason. An expert on psychometry, archaeology, necromancy, medicine, and history.
Palamedes is a deeply passionate and, in some ways, romantic person. Much of his childhood was defined by a deep, unattainable crush on Dulcinea Septimus, Heir to the Seventh House, and critically ill for most of her life. Palamedes drove himself to study not just necromancy but physical and medical sciences, so that he might improve her quality of life, if not cure her altogether.
But to quote Harrow’s (certainly his intellectual equal) words: she may be the better necromancer, but he’s the better person. Palamedes has a strong sense of justice and a solid moral code (as much as he can, being part of a galactic, necromancy-based civilization ruled by an unkillable God-Emperor). When people quarrel, he might roll his eyes and let them yell at each other, but when it turns into violence - senseless violence - Palamedes will forgo his usual cool demeanor and force everyone to fucking stop. There’s also some lines that he will not cross in his research, some paths he will not take. (See: Lyctorhood).
Aural.
